I began playing in 2008 with a friend who took me to Veterans Park in Lexington for my first round. This first round was a disaster but I stuck with it and played primarily Shillito Park for my next several rounds, learning how to grip, step and release both backhand and forehand. It wasn't long before I could regularly beat my friends. I played in my first tournament in late 2009, finishing in second place in the Rec division. In 2010, I played in my first age-protected division at the Bowling Green Amateur Championship and have been playing MA40, MA50 and now MA60 divisions since. In 2012, I played in my first PGDA Amateur World Championships finishing 25th, and have since played in 3 more with finishes as high as 17th.
I've also played in 4 Tim Selinske US Masters tournaments with finishes as high as 2nd in 2013.
Goals for 2021
1. Surpass my previous highest rating of 921.
2. Win the Bowling Green Open, MA60 division.
3. Finish in the top five at the 2021 PGDA Amateur World Championships.
